Robinho Edges Closer To Barcelona Switch
A major summit to thrash out the Brazilian’s transfer will take place in Abu Dhabi tomorrow, where members of the City squad not on international duty are training.
Present will be City chief executive Garry Cook, Barca representatives, Robinho’s father and the player’s commercial manager Chris Nathaniel.
Initially, Robinho is expected to move on loan during the January transfer window for a £6 million ‘arrangement fee’, with a view to a permanent switch in the summer.
City want to get back the £32.5m they paid Real Madrid for him just 15 months ago.
The player’s move to City has not been a success and all parties are beginning to accept a transfer is in everyone’s best interests.
Robinho has made 32 Premier League appearances and scored 14 goals. But an ankle injury means he has played only three times this season.
A source close to him said: “It is looking highly likely Robinho will get his move. Barcelona are very keen.”

There have been a lot of rumors about the interest of F.C Barcelona on signing Robinho and lately these rumors are becomign stronger, Robinho could sign for Barcelona on December/January.However Barcelona coach insist that he’s not interested on signing any new player. After their draw at Champions League opponents Rubin Kazan in mid weeek Guardiola was asked about Robinho. Thats was his answer:”I have not even thought for half a second about a new buy.” ”I have an indestructible faith in my team. Robinho? When we do not win, it is always the day after the front pages of the newspapers run with his story.”
